DESCRIPTION: We have been retained by Kings County Hospital Center (KCHC), a member of NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, and renowned Level I Trauma Center serving Central Brooklyn, to locate a Senior Associate Director of Nursing. Kings County Hospital is an academic medical center affiliated with SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. This position will have a dual report to the Chief Nursing Officer and the Chief of Emergency Medicine.
The Emergency Room at KCHC has 140,000 patient visits annually with a breakdown of 30,000 patient visits in the Pediatric Emergency Department, 40,000 patient visits in the Fast Track, 50,000 patient visits in the Main Emergency Department and approximately 8,000 patient visits in the Critical Care/Trauma area. There are approximately 120 FTE’s reporting to the Associate Executive Director of Nursing. The Emergency Room at KCHC is on the cutting edge of technology providing the most modern procedures with state of the art equipment.

EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate should be an RN with a Bachelors Degree; a Masters Degree in a related field is preferred. He/she must have progressive leadership experience at the Director of Nursing Level in a busy urban Emergency Room setting. Candidates should have completed their CEN Certification. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC are preferred; however, KCHC can provide courses for re-certification, if needed.
