DESCRIPTION: We have been retained by a metro New York hospital to locate an Administrative Director of Ambulatory Care/Access Services. Reporting to the COO, the Administrative Director will be responsible to coordinate all Ambulatory Care and Access Services in supporting the professional and ancillary staff for the attainment of departmental, fiscal and institutional goals, the satisfaction of all regulatory agencies and the ongoing development of a physician network by providing administrative and consultative assistance. He/she will supervise 6 manger/supervisors plus 44 additional staff in both Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Access Services. Responsibilities include: • Plan/coordinate daily activities/operations of Ambulatory Care/Access to ensure effective and efficient utilization • Ensure efficient patient flow with maximum emphasis on customer service • Develop policies/procedures in collaboration with Clinical Director that are consistent with department/institution goals • Liaison to other departments, Administration and Medical Staff to facilitate information sharing and problem solving • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations from local, state and federal government agencies including JCAHO, NYCDOH and IPRO • Plan, implement and evaluate delivery of care • Plan new programs/marketing approaches for Ambulatory/Access Care Services • Submit monthly administrative reports regarding activities/ongoing development • Plan/coordinate interdisciplinary performance improvement activities • Ensure systems are consistent with managed care contract requirements • Review monthly Personnel/Personnel Services, budgets and expense reports • Ensure budget and staffing plans for each area are met • Monitor unbilled trial balance, Medicaid Threshold Overrides, general billing problems and Managed Care referrals/authorizations • Monitor/supervise staff, evaluate performance, recommend promotion/discipline •

EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years administrative and supervisory experience in Ambulatory Care and Access Services. He/she must have excellent administrative and communication skills necessary to motivate staff, coordinate activities and interpret policies and procedures. He/she must have experience in creating an atmosphere that is patient driven/focused, with strong emphasis on customer service and efficient patient flow. A Masters degree in Health Care, Business Administration or related fields plus knowledge of Meditech systems is essential.
